And to be fair, I haven't yet started using the Guest solution, so I'm not sure what shortcomings it will have. Please search the help articles first as it will likely get you sorted much more quickly.Īs strange as it sounds, many issues are immediately resolved by restarting your device and making sure you are updated to the latest version on the App Store. Glad to have some solution, but hoping while developing your product you'll think of some of the concerns of Family Account customers who want to use it conveniently at work. No way they'll pay $5/mo per user for security when they won't even pay $5/mo so we can train people in 3 months instead of the 12 it takes now due to poor documentation. I think a lot of people outside tech work for companies that are this way. rant It's a Fortune 500 corp and to illustrate, we don't have enterprise licenses for SFDC, and we use Teams for Wikis and Tasks instead of real tools like Confluence or Trello. It's awesome, but to your suggestion, my company will never pay for it. I'd heard about 1Password for years in blogs and from friends working in tech. I think with LastPass's changes you'll be seeing a lot of people moving over. Thanks this is exactly the guidance I was looking for, /u/1PasswordCS-Michael And 1Password could set the default to whatever they believe is best so that users are forced to change to something less secure with knowledge that they are making their device less secure. The point is, there are options that should be offered to users who can then make a decision about what fits their risk profile the best. Or 1Password could require master password logins at much more forgiving intervals-once every week/14 days/30 days/etc. 1Password’s Apple Watch and biometric unlock implementation on my personal Macbook are great options. There are many possible ways that 1Password could implement an easier-to-unlock solution. change my master password end sessions remotely etc.). And if my laptop was stolen, I would take preventive measures to mitigate the risk that someone would have access to my data (e.g. I'm sure it's theoretically possible that could happen, but it's also HIGHLY improbable. If someone stole my laptop, they wouldn't be able to access the browser extension without first circumventing my secure log in. In my case, I have a corporate-issued laptop secured by a password that is always either 1) in use by me or 2) turned off. It's my data, so how secure it remains should be my choice (again, to some degree). I should be given some ability to choose how the extension locks/unlocks rather than be told it has to be only one way. In my case, I have chosen to secure the extension with a numeric pin that is immeasurably easier to enter than my master password (and yes, I know, also less e next paragraph). In fact, I dislike it it so much that I'm now running Bitwarden in conjunction with 1Password because Bitwarden offers other options for when the extension locks and how it can be unlocked. I really dislike re-entering my master password every time I open the browser on my work laptop (Windows/Brave browser). And I also know it's been a point of debate here and I'm sure on the 1Password forums, too. I am not a recent LastPass refugee.long time paid 1Password user here who remains happy with the product.
